Constitutional Accountability Act
The legislature passed H.849 by a wide margin. It allows Vermonters to sue law enforcement officers who violate their civil rights. It applies to local, state and federal agents, and has the potential to be a very potent tool to protect the Constitution. The Governor must sign or veto the act by Monday, so contact him now. It's easy to leave a message with his office at 802 828-3333 or an email here. Maybe something like:
My name is ________, from __________, VT. I strongly support the right to sue law enforcement officers who violate the constitution and I look forward to you signing H849. Thank you.
This is a good thing to do right now!
May Day: No Work, No School, No Shopping
Friday, May 1
Indivisible.org, our national organization, is planning an economic action for May Day. The plan? Show the economic power of the people that the Trump Administration is trying to take rights from. Don't go to work. Don't go to school. Don't spend money. If you can't fully participate, do as much as you can as we build the momentum for bigger and more powerful actions in the future. More details here.

Say "Thank You", please
Vermont Attorney General Charity Clark was victorious in a multi-state law suit against
the Trump administration who sought to withhold Medicaid and Medicare funds from hospitals that provide gender-affirming care. A Federal judge blocked the feds Saturday. You can thank her here.
